About
Welcome to Dateline>City of Angels!
I’m Michael Imlay, a professional writer whose background runs the gamut from public relations and marketing communications to consumer and trade journalism. Over the years, my work has appeared in a variety of local and national venues.
Born and raised in the Angeleno suburbs, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies/Philosophy from St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo, California. After two additional years of graduate work, I moved to the City of Angels proper, building a career in publishing, editorial and business communications, and eventually pursuing freelance writing, blogging and photography from my home office.
Dateline>City of Angels represents my “online journal” written from and mostly about my native Los Angeles. It especially reflects my offbeat fascination with the region’s quirky culture and heritage. I hope you’ll continue to enjoy its forays into the history, mystery and reality of life in this fabled metropolis!
